UTHM Strengthens Entrepreneurial Ecosystem at Jom XCESS 2025

6 October 2025 | Jom XCESS 2025 | The Katerina Hotel, Batu Pahat, Johor

The vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of the southern region came alive at Jom XCESS 2025, a dynamic platform that gathered over 150 participants from 96 companies. Organized by SME Bank in collaboration with EXIM Bank, MPRC, UTHM, and Takaful Malaysia, the event offered a day full of insights, networking, and business opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs.

UTHM was proudly represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shafie Mohamed Zabri (JBS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Sarah Omar (JBS), Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Noor Yasmin Zainun (FKAAB), Ts. Dr. Muhammad Asyraf Hasim (JBS), and Dr. Mohd Yussni Hashim (FKMP) — members of Business Advisory and Coaching Network (BEACON) appointed by the Centre for Entrepreneur Development and Research (CEDAR), a subsidiary of SME Bank. UTHM COOP and alumni company Ziegers Printing Enterprise also joined the event.

The UTHM booth, led by Johor Business School (JBS), highlighted the university’s business academic programmes, especially the Master of Business Administration Open & Distance Learning (MBA ODL) — a fully online programme offering flexibility for busy entrepreneurs to enhance their management and leadership skills.

Meanwhile, Dapo Rakyat, a student initiative by White Space Resources UTHM with PayNet Cambah, showcased locally made products, reflecting UTHM’s strong commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial and innovative talent.

Through Jom XCESS 2025, UTHM continues to strengthen its role as a strategic partner in driving Malaysia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem forward.
