JBS Strengthens International Network Through Academic And Cultural Mobility Programme In Batam, Indonesia
BATAM, 13 February 2026 – Johor Business School (JBS), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), continues to expand its international footprint through an Academic and Cultural Mobility Programme held in Batam, Indonesia, from 11 to 13 February 2026.
A delegation of 15 participants comprising Master of Business Administration (MBA) students and academic staff undertook official visits to three prominent universities in Batam, namely Universitas Batam (UNIBA), Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB), and Universitas Riau Kepulauan (UNRIKA).
The programme featured a series of impactful engagements, including strategic discussions on potential collaborations in academic development, joint research initiatives, and international student mobility. Academic staff from JBS also conducted knowledge-sharing sessions, while MBA students were given the opportunity to present their thesis work in an international academic setting.
In addition, the delegation carried out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity at Pusat Layanan Umum Terpadu KUMKM Kota Batam (PLUT KUMKM Kota Batam), aimed at supporting local micro-entrepreneurs and strengthening community engagement.
This initiative not only enhances the global visibility and branding of UTHM and JBS but also reinforces regional collaboration between Malaysia and Indonesia. The programme reflects JBS’s continued commitment to fostering sustainable strategic partnerships and advancing academic excellence on the international stage.
