JBS Short Course: Accounting For Non-Financial Managers

This three days course is an initiative of the Johor State Administrative Services Academy (APTNJ) in collaboration with Johor Business School (JBS), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The program aims to equip non-financial managers with fundamental financial knowledge, enabling them to interpret financial data, contribute to strategic decision-making processes, and align business operations with the organization’s financial objectives.
The course was attended by officers and executives from various government agencies and Johor GLCs, including the Johor State Secretary’s Office (SUK Johor), Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn. Bhd. (KPRJ), District Offices across Johor, Land Offices, and others.
The course covers seven main modules:
Module 1 – Introduction to Accounting
Module 2 – Accounting Principles and Standards (GAAP, IFRS)
Module 3 – Key Financial Components
Module 4 – The Accounting Cycle & Financial Transactions
Module 5 – Introduction to Malaysian Public Sector Accounting Standards (MPSAS)
Module 6 – Understanding Financial Statements
Module 7 – Financial Statement Analysis & Interpretation
