Johor Business School Strengthens Industry Collaboration Through Strategic Visit to Proton Tanjung Malim
Johor Business School (JBS), through its Centre of Business Development (CBD), successfully organised an industrial visit to Proton Tanjung Malim, involving 29 participants comprising administrative and academic staff from JBS and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM).
The visit offered participants valuable exposure to Proton’s vehicle manufacturing operations, including insights into production processes, operational management, and corporate administration systems. Participants were also given the opportunity to observe the assembly of engines and exterior components, as well as the Final Test procedures conducted to ensure that each vehicle meets Proton’s stringent quality standards prior to market release. In line with the company’s confidentiality policy, photography within the factory premises was strictly prohibited.
The programme concluded with a briefing session by Proton’s management team, who shared key perspectives on the company’s production strategies, corporate governance practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Johor Business School extends its sincere appreciation to Proton Tanjung Malim for the warm hospitality and the informative knowledge-sharing session. This engagement represents another meaningful step in strengthening academia–industry collaboration, and JBS looks forward to exploring future initiatives with Proton to further enhance mutual learning and professional development.
