JBS CONNECT: Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony Between the Johor State Civil Service Academy (APTNJ) and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Prof. Ts. Dr. Mas Fawzi bin Mohd Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), while the Johor State Civil Service Academy (APTNJ) was represented by Yang Berhormat Dato’ Haji Ismail bin Haji Abu, Deputy State Secretary of Johor (Management).

This collaboration marks a strategic initiative to strengthen the relationship between UTHM and APTNJ, particularly in the areas of competency development, research, innovation, and leadership training. Such efforts are crucial in ensuring that the Johor State civil service remains relevant, responsive, and resilient in meeting evolving demands.

Prior to this, APTNJ and Johor Business School (JBS), UTHM have engaged in several collaborative efforts through the implementation of various training programmes and courses, including Corporate Governance 101, Accounting for Non-Financial Managers, and Legal Foundation for the Law of Contract. In addition, a recent initiative has seen selected officers from the Johor State Government, nominated by APTNJ, pursuing their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at JBS. This MoU is expected to serve as a catalyst for a more sustained and impactful strategic partnership between both parties.

Also in attendance were Prof. Ts. Dr. Abdul Rasid bin Abdul Razzaq, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni); Tuan Haji Naim bin Maslan, Registrar and Chief Operating Officer; Associate Professor Dr. Shafie bin Mohamed Zabri, Dean of Johor Business School (JBS); as well as senior officers of UTHM and representatives from APTNJ.
